What do you believe an OCDSB trustee’s role is re: promoting well-being in Ottawa public schools? (See full text of Question 5.)

An OCDSB Trustee must promote, and enforce, the well-being of every child in all Board Schools. While the Trustee will clearly focus on their own Schools, the Trustee must continue to advocate on behalf of all parents, and promote the same principals of fairness and equity throughout the entire OCDSB mandate.
I feel the OCDSB has progressed over the past 25 years in accepting the impact of Mental Health, but the Board needs to promote more action, such as additional Social Worker, and experts on Mental Health, be employed as Full-Time workers throughout the schools governed by the OCDSB.
As I have stated, I will advocate for more resources in the school to provide support for any student in distress.
